Season II Quest OutWest: Wild Food is a journey of exploring and documenting the historical and modern food map of Salishan Tribes along pristine lakes and the coastal shores of British Columbia. We continue the journey with host Tracey Kim Bonneau and visit colorful tribes of her Salishan peoples. The culture of sharing food, gentle murmur of stories of singing song is a special rite of passage passed down by Indigenous peoples, throughout the world. From the home of the swallow people embedded in mysterious clay-banks to the salty shores of the Pacific coast, Indigenous food culture is exciting and alive in the 21st century.
Salishan people love and rely on hunting, fishing, and gathering edible plants as their legacy and main sources of food and modern survival. The land in British Colombia is still abundant with wild food.
