This one-hour film tells the story of the worst maritime tragedy in Canadian inland waters. This sinking resulted in 1012 deaths on May, 29, 1914.
But the film goes beyond the story of the sinking. We return to the wreck of the Empress, down more than 160 feet, to discover new secrets, facts that have never been revealed before.
In the film, we get to experience the diving expedition just off Rimouski. We get to see the current state of one of the most important shipwrecks in the country up close. It’s a wreck that has had to be constantly protected from many looters in recent years – and nature.
