With a successful Season 1 of La Main à la pâte under his belt, Chef Luc Jean is ready for Season 2. Motivated by the amazing encounters he has had in the West and Northern parts of the country in Season 1, he gets in touch with producers, breeders, and market gardeners in Central and Eastern Canada. “On returning from my travels, I found I had a new appreciation of the products, and a new perspective,” he said. Chef Luc attributes his renewed gusto to the passionate people he met and had the privilege of learning from along the way. “Their methods of production are the kind that are passed down from one generation to the next. They’re impossible to know unless someone shows you and explains how it’s done. There’s real history there and that’s what makes it so beautiful.” And that’s why he’s off again, looking for new products, new friendships to make, and new regions to discover.
