Ellis Island was the gateway for millions of immigrants to the United States from 1892 until 1954. Many of these were Italians who ultimately travelled north of the border. Follow the lives of four families as they retrace their ancestor's journey to Canada, starting with their disembarkment at Ellis Island. The digital media component sbarco.ca is associated to the TV documentary component Sbarco a Ellis.  It provides a value added component to the viewers of the TV documentary before, during and after the broadcast of the TV component. 

This website is rich and interactive with historical photographs, videos, maps of the Italian-American-Canadian migration routes to Ellis Island and additional material and interviews that did not air in the documentary.  There are interactive elements via a virtual tour of Ellis Island, and a link as a starting point to research details of family paths of immigration. Social media interconnectivity via Instagram and hashtags that feature: #sbarco, #ellisisland Also included is  a quiz based on information garnered from watching the documentary.
