Breaking the Silence: Burma’s Resistance

Documentary
French (Available dubbed in English)

The documentary’s filmmakers were escorted by rebels to the heart of Burma’s Karen State where civil war has raged since 1948 to meet with locals hiding in the jungle to escape slavery and murder. The film shows to what extent the Burmese are willing to go to win back their freedom and establish democracy. Viewers meet with locals and with exiled political and humanitarian activists from underground resistance networks in Thailand fighting against one of the world’s bloodiest military dictatorships.
