Guylaine Tremblay goes from centre stage to host and for the first time in her career heads up a new TV social magazine show. Banc Public will present rigorously documented human interest and social issues stories. A wide range of provocative topics will be tackled, including homosexuality in sports, the impact of screens on our daily lives, fatherhood after 50, should we fear chemo, a kidney donation network, and identity theft. Hard statistics, assumptions, and study results will play important roles in each episode. Designed to raise questions and debunk myths, Banc public will fuel exchanges and discussions on studies that will be confirmed, enhanced, or challenged by those who live these realities on the ground. While experts will be there to make their case, regular citizens will also be invited to share their experiences. Supported by colleagues documenting the issues, Guylaine Tremblay will meet with one or more people personally affected by the topics of the week. Their discussions will serve as a bridge between the various components of the program.
